At the heart of Everyday Activity Science and Engineering, the Body Motion Problem (BMP) involves computing precise, goal-directed movements that account for real-world constraints. Solving BMP isn’t just about generating motions—it requires understanding task goals, predicting consequences, and dynamically adapting to avoid failures. EASE formalizes these challenges by categorizing tasks based on manipulation type, application domain, execution paradigm, and cognitive integration. This structured approach enhances reasoning, planning, and execution. EASE has already developed computational models for key tasks like pouring and cutting, with future expansions focusing on assistive robotics and human-robot collaboration for seamless everyday integration.
